Staying in our lane

1 Thessalonians 4:11 (New Living Translation)

11 Make it your goal to live a quiet life, minding your own business and working with your hands, just as we instructed you before

Proverbs 26:17 (New Living Translation)

17 Interfering in someone else’s argument
is as foolish as yanking a dog’s ears.

Lets be honest for a minute ( ok maybe a second ) by nature people like to "know things", or get the latest and greatest news on others. It has been part of life for generations to the point that is becomes part of everyday life in some instances.

However, there are limitations and lines that we need to be careful not to cross when it comes to the business and affairs of others. When we steer out of our lane - it puts not only us - but others in danger. We need to realize that it is not ALWAYS our JOB to " HANDLE" eveything.

Ephesians 4:11-15 (New Living Translation)

11 Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. 12 Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. 13 This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ.
14 Then we will no longer be immature like children. We won’t be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching. We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth. 15 Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church

You see there are certain things, issues, business that we need to steer clear of - why? Because some things have to be done certain ways. Would we have a Bus Driver perform open heart surgery? Would we want a hair dresser to work on our teeth? Of course not - we want those who know their profession and are well trained to handle the delicate issues of our life.

When we get out of the "lane" and try to do/say things that are not on our course - it only causes confusion, chaos, and traffic jams - that can take way too long to get out of.

Too many times - good motives and intentions - but the wrong approach cause more harm than good in our lives. If we focus on the things we can and should focus on and leave the things we cant and shouldnt try to fix - we will have less anxiety and drama that many times is self inflicted.

Today - lets make it a point to STAY IN OUR LANE, by doing so we will avoid the speed bumps, the traffic, and most importantly ...THE ROAD RAGE that comes along with it!
